Last weekend, the Youth and Government club went to the Pennsylvania State Capitol, and the trip came with great successes and achievements for the club! In the legislative branch, Paige Carmichael, Cate Coliton, and Ivana York had the Youth Governor not only sign but pass each of their legislations. Ivana York was also awarded with Outstanding Gold Legislative Writer for her excellent and effective legislation; Anna Huang was awarded with Outstanding Gold Representative for her leadership and engagement during the process. Cate Coliton, Teagan Moyer, and Paige Carmichael were all chosen to be a part of a national legislative program over the summer, including Anna Huang and Ben Kuzmik chosen as alternates. Teagan Moyer was also selected to become statewide office as Lieutenant Governor. In the judicial branch, Ovia Gopinath was awarded Outstanding Justice for her skill and knowledge. Ovia, alongside Aarika Patel, were also chosen as alternates for the national judicial summer program. In the press corps, Andrea Yao was awarded Best Writers honors two years in a row! Over in the executive branch, Charlie Lai was awarded the Sam Condrick Award for leadership, spirit, and dedication.
