Over the past two weekends, the Model United Nations team delivered an impressive series of performances at conferences hosted by La Salle College High School and Charter School of Wilmington. Competing against strong delegations, the team earned top honors and demonstrated exceptional skill in diplomacy, debate, and collaboration.
At La Salle, the team achieved a remarkable milestone by sweeping first-place awards across all three committees; an outstanding accomplishment that reflects both preparation and teamwork. In the Security Council, Charlie Lai earned an Honorable Mention representing the United States, while Shubun Aggarwal took home Best Delegate representing Germany. In the Asteroid Response Council, Neha Vijayabhaskar secured Best Delegate honors representing the European Space Agency. Meanwhile, in the Russian Revolution committee, Soumith Yannam received an Honorable Mention for his portrayal of Felix Dzerzhinsky, and Jacob Mueller earned Best Delegate as Joseph Stalin.
The following weekend at the Charter School of Wilmington, the team continued its success. In the SOCHUM committee, Ovia Gopinath was awarded Best Delegate representing France. In the Historical Crisis committee, Soumith Yannam once again stood out, earning Outstanding Delegate as Juan de Cartagena. Rounding out the awards, Pragya Srivastava received an Honorable Mention in the FunMUN “Mean Girls” committee for her role as Gretchen Wieners.
