This past week the GV boys track and field team participated in the Delco Championchip meet. This meet spans 2 days of competition; a preliminary meet which took place last Wednesday at Penn Woods Kerr Field, and a finals meet which took place over the weekend on Saturday. You have to qualify in the preliminary meet to make it into the finals meet. The boys team had over 15 athletes participating in the finals. Each athlete who places in the top 8 for each event scores anywhere from 10 points for first to 1 point for 8th. These points at the end of the meet get added up to a total score. Thanks to the outstanding performances of the GV athletes, the boys team secured the second place runner up position out of twenty teams at the championship with a score of 73.5 points.
